The museum is always interested in donations of items and firearms that fit within its Collection Policy.
We are particularly interested in "foreign orders" - items made at SAF 'unofficially'.

By donating today you can support our volunteers in building a better museum and ensuring its future. All donations over $2 made to the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum are tax deductable.

Assist with research and documentaton

You can help with articles for our quarterly Journal, assistance with research for museum object files, or stories from ex-employees.

The aims of the Museum

  • » To bring the Factory history to life, including its people and the social environment of Lithgow.
  • » To educate about the processes and methodology involved in mass production manufacturing.
  • » To educate about the advancements of technology in manufacturing and changes in management methods from past to present.
  • » To educate about Australia's industrial past, and Lithgow's local industrial history.
  • » To display a magnificent collection of longarms, machine guns and handguns for those interested specifically in firearms.
  • » To have searchable archives and resources available to collectors, researchers, and other interested people.
  • » To continually improve the Museum .
